Crossbow Legality
Are pistol grip crossbows illegal in N.H.?
Someone told me that they are, but I cannot find information relevant to pistol grip crossbows, only normal crossbows… so I cannot be absolutely sure that they are legal or illegal. Can someone tell me with certainty their status in relation to N.H. state law so that I can be sure before I get one (if I get one… that issue is tied up with the legality).
Can you also give me a citation of where you discoverd this information, or a site or law so that I can be absolutely sure, I can’t take just anyone’s word… not to be mean or anything!
Ownership of bows of any type is generally not regulated. In all 50 states crossbow ownership is totally unregulated. The only regulations are hunting regulations where many states do not allow Crossbow Hunting period or only to disabled persons and it needs to meet or exceed a certain draw length. Only 1 state I can think of that has reestrictions of bows is NJ.
