sewing ideas?

I have this cute fish and tackle print fabric, and three other fabrics that match it really well. I keep collecting it every time I go to th store but I don’t know what to make with it! I really want to make a quilt for my bf who is big in hunting and fishing but my friend is already making her bf a quilt and id hate to be a copy cat :-/ does anyone have any ideas?
i would like to go ahead and do a quilt but I’ve had issues with her copying me in the past and I would like to stay a way from hypocrisy :-/

This may sound odd for a guy to be answering a sewing question, but here it goes. Why don’t you make a custom carying case for each of his favorite rod and reels? They would sort of be like those pockets that professional pool players use for their pool sitcks.

I made one for my bamboo flute made of blue silk with white saten inside. Your fishing pole pocket will look GREAT! It will be something he can take with him to the lake!. It will be something he can pin his favorite hooks, and things to. It is also UNIQUE, and shows you have an interest in his interests!
