Moose hunting ammunition for 270 win and 30-06 ?
Me and my grandfather are going on a eastern Canada moose hunt in the up coming hunting season. We are both bringing our own rifles, I am taking my 270 win, and my grandfather is taking his 30-06. We are in a debate about what ammo we should use for both rifle. What ammo would you use for the 270 and the 30-06 ?

Moose are large heavy animals. You will want a heavy bullet that will penetrate a lot of muscle before expanding. I’d recommend 180gr for the ’06 and 150gr for the 270.
Your .270 is a fine cartridge, but on the light side for moose so keep your shots under 200 yards and be extremely careful of shot placement. Study moose anatomy before the hunt and make sure you only take a certain kill shot.
