Hunting Rifles With Scopes

How do you use the Hunting Rifle scope feature in left 4 dead?
I’ve been playing L4D for a few months now, and im very satisfied with it. i mostly use the auto shot gun but in wide open areas i enjoy the aim and range of the Hunting Rifle. thing is their is no set button for the scope feature for Laptops. I remember a random person saying something about a code you enter into console and it allows you to choose a button for scope. But i couldn’t hear his mic correctly and ended up disconnecting from the server.
default key on most FPS games on PC is “Z”
if not you should be able to look at your controlls in the options menue (if there Is one) of the game.
